Global Warming 7-20-2008. A division of The American Physical Society, a professional organization of 50,000 professional physicists, has now taken a stand that man has no influence in global warming. The most solid comment in the article is scientific: "Monckton, who was the science advisor to Britain's Thatcher administration, says natural variability is the cause of most of the Earth's recent warming. "In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years ... Mars, Jupiter, Neptunes largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth." Read the article here: http://www.dailytech.com/Myth+of+Consensus+Explodes+APS+Opens+Global+Warming+Debate/article12403.htm 7-18-08. One of the creators of Australia's carbon accounting model of greenhouse gas (FullCAM) which is the model Australia uses to measure their compliance with the Kyoto Protocol has looked at the real evidence and now says humans are not causing global warming. In fact, he points out, the warming trend stopped in 2001. Last year global temperatures dropped 0.6C degrees. He also discusses ice core data and the lack of finding a greenhouse "hotspot." Check out the article now. The environment is a concern to all (or at least it should be). In 1970, the great Christian apologist, Francis A. Schaeffer, wrote a book called Pollution and the Death of Man in which he presented the Christian view of the environment. We have always been concerned about cleaning up the environment, and now as Christians we are not just in favor of protecting the environment, we are compelled, for a simple reason. The earth is God's creation and He gave us the job of tending, watching over, His creation. I am please that, as a country, we have made such great progress. I remember my mom telling about hanging out the laundry in the 1930s. It went up white and came down dry, but gray from all the coal smoke. We have come a long way and must never let up on progress. Here is the big surprise. We have heard this before, but this site has the references. Water vapor is the biggest source of the greenhouse effect! That is why the output of the sun affects warming of the earth. Evaporate more water and you get more greenhouse effect. Read all about it here. Good info on this page of their site too! BUT, things have gotten out of hand. In England, the homeland of the modern atheist movement and materialism, students must be issued a warning before watching Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. Why? The courts ruled that the movie contains at least 9 inaccuracies and therefore is primarily propaganda, not science. Al got a Nobel Prize non the less. Here is a site that lists 11 errors found by the court. Here is a site that lists 9 errors found by the court. There is not a consensus on global warming. If there was, Mr. Gore would not have to lie or make up "facts." Those who say humans have little to no effect on global warming are not allowed a public forum. Real, open, discussion has become a thing of the past when science becomes a bedfellow of politics. If you have not seen the scientific evidence (you probably haven't), we have a page for you. As we write this on 05/20/08, over 31,000 American scientists have signed a petition urging the U.S. government to reject the Kyoto and other agreements built on political correctness instead of solid scientific evidence. You will find details of the petition and the scientific evidence that is ignored by those that wish to use the environment as a political tool. NEW!! Just in on 6-19-2008: ScienceDaily.com reports ice core evidence of a 22 degree change in temperature in just 50 years occurred only 14,700 years ago. And another big change 11,700 years ago. Darn those Vikings! |
